Words of Light!
It has been nine months since you parted on your new adventure, yet I feel it was yesterday when we had one of our many conversations, laughed, and made plans for a future that would never exist, at least, here on Earth.
Matias, you continue to be so present in our lives. You continue to find ways to remind us that you are still here with us. You continue to be the engine that keeps us moving. It is outstanding how the seeds you planted, in your short but fulfilling life experience, are now growing. These seeds are what now remind us of our purpose, of the promise of love we made to you and Julieta.
We are consistently reminded of the stories you shared, not only with us, but with all of those you loved unconditionally. Your words, which at that moment we felt were sweet, innocent, and full of hope and love, have now become the prophecies that mark the path our family needs to follow. Your aunt Lorena, was whom you shared the news that your brother, Lucas, would be born when Julieta was three. At that moment, we did not stop to think of what you were truly saying. Being only four, but amazing as you were, you did not say, "Lucas will be born when I am seven", because, your little connected soul knew you would only live to be almost six. What captivated us the most was the certainty of your words, that same certainty you felt when you announced to us, and later on, your friends and teachers at school, that your little sister was going to be born, even before our doctor could confirm. Being only three, you defended your claim by confirming, with such purity, that your angels had been the ones who had shared this with you.
Julieta is now, 2-8 years old, and I am 19 weeks pregnant. Amazingly, the baby will be born about a month after Julieta turns three. Matias, according to the doctor, there is a possibility that Lucas, will now be Ana Lucia, but I guess you already know the purpose and reason for this.
I won't lie, my love, it has been hard for your father and me. We did not plan this, it was totally unexpected. Yet, what has given us peace, were your words. For some divine reason you knew this was going to happen; and maybe deep inside, your dad and I knew this as well, nonetheless, when we lingered around the idea of a third child, we envision you being physically there with us, more so, because you eminently and consistently talked about your brother, as if he was already here.
We have so many doubts about our capabilities to be the parents your sisters deserve. Can we truly let them feel how much we love them through this pain that still is so much present in our souls? Yet, Julieta, our little warrior and savior, has dedicated her entire life on reminding us to live and laugh. Every day, with her sparkly personality and witty sense of humor, she has slowly healed the wound that will forever exist in our hearts. You have never left her , and she makes sure to let us know of your presence. You said you were proud because, you knew you made her happy...Matias, you continue to do so. She does not miss you because you have never left her. You continue to be here for her, as we are certain, you will be for Ana Lucia. You will forever be, the BEST BIG BROTHER!!!
Besos
Abrazos
DeleteBeautiful words. Ana Lucia will be blessed to be born into such a loving family. I can't wait to meet her and to show her how to use lip gloss when she is older :-D
